Juniors and Little Rocks

Saturdays: 12:30 pm to 2 pm (October to March – 16 to 18 weeks)

The Royal City Curling Club has programs for children ages 6 and up.

We have “little rocks” for our smaller curlers, but move curlers up to full size rocks when they are ready to go. We base our program on the skills and abilities of our curlers, so we try to group them together based upon their abilities than strictly their age. Our focus in this program is skill development, and to assist with that, the Royal City Curling Club tries to have a minimum of one volunteer coach for every eight curlers. In the past season, this ratio was closer to 1 coach for every 4-6 curlers.

Brooms and “sliders” are provided, and a limited number of used curling shoes may be available to be signed out for the season.

Please note that Curling Canada strongly recommends that curlers under the age of 12 and all new curlers wear a CSA-approved helmet for ice sports. Royal City CC does not provide helmets or have them available for rent.
